Preston Schools Cup Final
Saturday was a fantastic day for our school. For the first time in what feels like forever for the boys PE department, we had not only one team in a Deepdale final; but TWO!
The weather was as perfect as the pitch. The stands were three quarters full with Ashton support with players' friends, families and staff from the school all coming together to enjoy a wonderful school event.
The year 11 boys played a strong Temple team with numerous of the opposition representing Preston town team on a regular basis. This didn't deter the boys and when drawing level from going one goal down, they finally lost the game 3-1.
There was a little more fortune with the year 10 boys who despite dominating the game from start to finish, drew 0-0 in the 60 minute match. This means the cup is shared between Corpus and ourselves but a special mention goes to Sam Maddox who was deservedly awarded man of the match.
