DofE offers a platform to discover new interests and talents, build new friendships and develop new essential skills for life and work. DofE is a recognised mark of achievement, respected by colleges, universities, and employers.

At ACSC, we offer the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) to our students. Participating in this activity can provide a life changing experience.

There are four sections (Volunteering, Physical, Skill and Expedition) to complete Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh Award. These challenges involve helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills, planning, and training to complete a camping expedition.

DofE is promoted to all our students and they are reminded that achieving the award is not a competition but is about setting personal challenges reaching them.

Participating in the DofE award is not only enjoyable, but also offers students a chance to make new relationships, improve their self-esteem and build confidence. Essential life skills will also be developed, including resilience, problem-solving, teamwork, communication and raising aspirations.

To assist with the associated cost to parents of this wonderful opportunity, ACSC heavily subsidise the cost to ensure that all students who wish to take part can.
