School of Mathematics

This week a group of our year 7 students got the chance to work with Juan from the Lancaster University School of Mathematics (LUSoM), the new maths sixth form in Preston which offers multiple different A-level Maths options post-16.

Juan worked with year 7 on a problem-solving and our students did well with thinking both creatively and logically.

This group of students now have the chance to take part in LUSoM’s Axiom Maths circles, where they will meet weekly in groups of 6, with a maths mentor, after school at LUSoM to “grapple with intriguing questions, explore exciting ideas and learn to think like advanced mathematicians”.
